What Craft Idea Could I Do For Agift To A 14 Year Old Girl?

My friends are both turning 14 this year and they are having a birthday party together. My family doesn’t have the money to buy 5 presents per month!
Christy does ballet and is very artsy and loves crocheing and quilting! I was thinking a quilt but i have to make it by this friday! What else could i do for there gifts???

Do one square of the quilt and wrap that up. Tell her the rest is coming.
For the friend who crochets, both Michaels and Joann’s are running yarn sales right now! Get her a skein or two of fun yarn in a color she likes.
If you sew, find some scrap fabric (or buy a fat quarter for a buck or two) and make the crocheter a case for her crochet hooks. Email me for details on that, if you want to do it. I have a three simple ones that I know how to make and can explain to you.

here’s another, considering the paucity of time — make crochet doilies - in one or different colors.they are quick to make & you can make a set of 2,4,6, depending on the time available. you could give both your friends the same as gift.
the single block of quilt is also a good idea, provided you do follow it up in future if you promise. otherwise, make pot holders & coasters or table mats & napkins ….. again, you can make them in sets of 2,4,6 … You could applique, embroider, quilt, …. each square & use patterns/designs of their favorites/interests…
i recently got a set of mug coasters that are so simple yet elegant - simple squares with the dates of each month of 2009 printed on one side & just satin zig-zag along the edges. so you can have a set of 6 coasters, each with 2 months - you could use fabric paint to ink in the dates…
and for next year or for other friends, start early ;-)))

How about a simple cloth tote you can get anywhere, and then you decorate it yourself with fabric paint and some cute patches you can sew on?
