Halloween Crafts - Get Your Little One’s Spooky Imagination Going
Halloween is one of the most favored holidays for most kids. It is a time for dressing up, trick or treating, decorating the house with all sorts of scary ghosts and witches. This Halloween why not sit down with your child and create some spooky Halloween crafts. Below are four easy crafts that your children can create to dress up your house and yard this Halloween.
Egg Carton Spider: You will need an egg carton, glue, scissors, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes. Cut out a section of the egg carton and poke four holes in each side of the cup. Now, have your kids put a pipe cleaner into each of the holes and bend them so they look like spider legs. You can have them color the cup black and glue on the googly eyes.
Pumpkin Faces: Take some orange construction paper and have your kids draw the outline of a pumpkin. Then help them cut out the pumpkin and decorate the faces (or you can cut out the eyes, nose and mouth). Than have your kids hang up their pumpkins in windows and doorway panes to greet the trick or treaters.
Scary Ghosts: Halloween crafts can be very scary when you have ghosts hanging from your tees. For this craft, you will need white plastic bags, styrofoam balls and markers. Cut off the handles of the bag and place a styrofoam ball at the top. Secure it in the bag with a string or rubber band. Now cut strips in the bottom of the bag and poke a hole above the head so you can insert a string to hang the ghost. Now have your kids draw scary faces on their ghosts with their markers.
Bat Hand Prints: Halloween crafts made with little hands. You will need paper, paper plates and black paint that is water-soluble. Also, you might want to lay down some newspaper for this craft, as it can get messy. In one paper plate, pour some black paint. Have your child place their hands flat in the paint. Be sure they cover their entire hand. Now lay down a piece of paper and have your child place their hands with splayed fingers gently on the paper. Allow the paint to dry and help your child cut out the handprints. Paint the other sides of each handprint with the left over black paint. Once dried, help your child to cut out the handprints, and attach the googly eyes. Then punch a hole at the top and insert a piece of string for hanging. Your child has now made a scary bat.
Halloween crafts are a wonderful way to liven up Halloween and add to the mystery of it. Your child can make decorations, costumes or just about whatever their imaginations allow them to. What a fun way to spend Halloween together.
