arts & crafts for kids

We all know that children love to make new things. They will spend hours in front of new things such as kids arts & crafts to invent something new. At least, we are the adults call these entire process as to invent. Parents have enough knowledge that children’s creativity and imagination should be triggered by giving special toys or tools. Kids arts & crafts are one of the tools used by parent to develop the children’s mind. It involves drawing, coloring and painting. Some of them also involve cutting and pasting. Those tools are made to fulfill the need of creativity encouragement. This way, children can get some opportunity to boost some ideas.

Many parents have questioned the method to perform the right action for each kids arts & crafts activity. Based on this kids arts & crafts issue, this article will address the answer and give some insight about kids arts & crafts. You will find some ideas on how to improve the way you get in touch with children in the process which involve kids arts & crafts. Maybe, you have ever been told about some knowledge regarding the kids arts & crafts, however, you should consider reading the whole article, maybe there are some new things you should know about kids arts & crafts. After reading this article, hopefully, you, as the reader, can get inspired and ready to improve the process of using kids arts & crafts.

Let us start with painting, for the first kids arts & crafts project. In this process, children feel more comfortable if they can actually use their hands to paint. Yes, you are right. However, many parents disagree and make their children do the painting with brush. If you are the teacher or the parents, you should be aware with this kind of situation. You should be the one who encourage your child to be a child by painting with hands. This way, you will be amused by the result and your child skill. You will see what their imagination is. In the other way, if you make them to paint with brush you will not see their real skill and imagination.

How about the drawing? I have seen a lot of people make their child drawing on a premade drawing book where children should draw based on the dotted structure. This is not a good idea. This way, your child will be a robot. They will not have the opportunity to draw the things they like based on their imagination. As their parent or teacher, you should be aware of this issue. Children should get enough freedom to express them self using kids arts & crafts. Their teacher and parent should help them utilize the kids arts & crafts.

Enchanted Learning

Enchanted Learning With Kids Crafts At Home

By 123kidscrafts

Nothing gets a child smiling like crafts at home. Kids crafts done at home with family can be thought of as an enchanted learning experience. Kids crafts at home give children an opportunity to improve on their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and cognitive skills while using their imagination and creativity.

When it comes to kids crafts at home, the possibilities are endless. There are many fun projects you can get your kids involved in that can be done with family, friends or alone. Let us explore just a few of these fun craft ideas.

1. Birthday parties - Have your children invite their friends over for a day filled with craft-making activities. They can create their own party hats, friendship bracelets, paper planes or paper puppets. It will be an enchanted learning experience for everyone as their imaginations go wild.

2. Pasta art - This is a favorite for many kids. It is a very simple project too. All you need is construction paper, glue and a box of pasta (let them pick out the type of pasta). The kids then can make beautiful art pieces with their noodles and paper.

3. Finger painting - This is one of the messier crafts, but so much fun for your little ones. Painting lets your children express their thoughts, dreams and imaginations into a colorful masterpiece. Be sure to lay down newspaper and dress your kids into clothes dedicated for this craft only.

4. Animal Shapes - What another great way to give your children an enchanted learning experience. Your kids can design all different types of animals using shapes (this also helps them learn their shapes). How about a triangle fish? Kids can cut out a big triangle for the body and smaller triangles for the fins. How about a panda bear using only circles? A big circle for the body, smaller for the head, two smaller circles for the ears and lines of tiny circles for the legs and arms. Grab some glue and popsicle sticks and you can have instant animal puppets.

5. Magnets - This is another easy kids craft. You can purchase unfinished wood shapes at your local craft store along with paint and magnet strips. You can get the self-adhesive magnet strips or purchase a hot glue gun for the standard magnets (you will want to help your kids with the hot glue gun so they do not burn themselves). Then your kids can paint their wood shapes, add fun decorations such as glitter or beads and then attach the magnet strips once the paint dries on the shapes. Once the magnets are finished let your kids put them on the refrigerator door so everyone can enjoy their artwork.

On the next rainy day or special occasion, why don’t you open up the world of enchanted learning for your child. Allow them to choose which crafts they would like to do that day and then sit back and watch the smiles on their faces as they create wonderful little masterpieces.

arts and crafts for kids

Whether it be a rainy day or blizzard outside, Mother’s Day or a birthday, crafts for kids is a great way to get your children involved in something fun, productive, and creative. Let their imaginations go wild as they make all sorts of wonderful little pieces of art. Nothing brings a smile on a child’s face more than getting the chance to show off a masterpiece that they made. Below are a few different ideas when looking for crafts for kids.

1. Puppet making. There are all sorts of ways to make a puppet. In this craft, we are going to use socks. The basic supplies your children will need are glue, scissors, and felt. The rest of supplies (for decorating the puppet) can be up to you and your children. Let your children get creative when making their sock puppets. They can glue on wiggly eyes, felt coats and clothes, cotton ball hair or painted faces. This craft will keep them busy for hours as they make several different kinds of puppets. When they are done creating their puppets, have them put the puppets on their hands, hide behind a table and give you a puppet show.

2. Wooden frames. Crafts for kids involving wood frames can be easier done when purchasing already assembled frames in unfinished wood. Then you can have your little ones paint and decorate the frames as they see fit. They can use glitter, sequin, beads, wooden balls, or other things to add some personality to their frames.

3. Chinese lanterns - Have your kids fold pieces of paper vertically. Then either you or your children (with safety scissors) make a series of cuts on the fold but leaving 2 inches on both sides. Open the paper and join the edges either with glue or staples to create the lantern. Have them cut a 2-inch strip to serve as a handle and then glue it (or staple) on either side of the lantern, on the top. They have now created a Chinese lantern. Now, have them create many more in various colors, string them together, and hang them up.

4. Sponge plant - Crafts for kids can be a learning experience too. With this one, you are going to show your kids how to make a plant with nothing more than a sponge and flower seeds. It will just about grow right before their eyes. Have them put a porous sponge in a container of water to soak. Then have them roll the sponge in any type of small flower seeds. Hang the sponge in a sunny window and have them keep an eye on it over the next several days for seed sprouting. Once the seeds have begun to sprout, show them how to transfer the seeds into a pot with soil. What a great way to learn about how flowers grow.

Crafts for kids can get the whole family together and spark creativity. Children love to make things and showing a bit of praise for a job well done will give them a boost in pride as well. Use these craft ideas for any occasion to keep your children interactive while helping the development of many skills and talents.

One way the whole family can get together and prepare for Christmas is by making Christmas crafts. There are many different types of crafts that your entire family can have fun making and below you will find just a few.

Making Christmas stockings - Stockings are actually very easy to make. You can buy the stocking at your local crafts store or create it out of fabric. Once you have the stocking ready, you can decorate it with your own personal touch. Some ideas are beads, buttons, glitter, sequin, lace, fabric paint, iron on letters and more.

Christmas Cookies - Christmas is just not the same without cookies! Making Christmas cookies is one of the most popular types of Christmas crafts around. What a fun and delicious way to spend time with your family on the holidays. You can cut out different Christmas shapes like angels, trees, snowmen, or candy canes out of dough. Use green and red food coloring to give the cookies Christmas color. Add some green and red sprinkles for an even merrier Christmas treat.

Christmas cards - This is a great one for your kids. Give them colorful construction paper and have them make delightful Christmas cards out of them. You can have them decorate their cards with glitter, cotton balls for snow, they can draw Christmas trees, snowflakes, reindeer, or snowmen. Christmas wreaths - These Christmas crafts are almost guaranteed to start a tradition. You will need to get a wreath ring, foliage, and florist wire. Have the whole family go out for a walk and collect all sort of vegetation from mother nature. Collect twigs, leaves, spruce, evergreen (ivy and laurel leaves), pinecones, berries, poppies, holly and other shrubs. Once you have your vegetation collected, you are ready to start building your Christmas wreaths. What you do is tie the foliage to the wreath ring by wrapping the wire around the stem end of the foliage and then attach the wire to the wreath ring by threading another wire piece through and twisting it around the ring. Keep repeating this process an inch further up the stem. As you continue to do this, your wreath will eventually fill up and turn very festive looking.

Christmas crafts are a fun family tradition for many centuries. No matter which craft you decide to do with your family, the important thing is spending time with your loved ones on this special holiday.

On The Go Vacation Family Craft Ideas

By 123kidscrafts

vacation-family craft ideas

vacation-family craft ideas

Going on vacation can be a very exciting time for a family. However, when vacationing with kids, you might find yourself having to entertain your kids rather than being able to relax. This is where vacation family crafts come in handy. There are many different types of crafts you can get your child involved in to keep them busy on your vacation. Just be sure that you plan the crafts ahead of time and bring the needed supplies. Below you will find a few crafts that your kids can do during vacation family time.

Homemade mobiles - For this you will need glue, string, paper plates, a hole puncher and large ziploc bags. Have your kids walk around outside and collect whatever they can that peaks their interest (within reason) and put inside their ziploc bag. This can be leaves, rocks, twigs, flowers, grass, etc. Once inside, have them punch some holes all around the outside of a plate. Then have them glue on the leaves, flowers, twigs, or grass onto the paper plate. Tie some sting around each object they found and loop and tie the other end of each string in the holes they made. They now have their own homemade mobile.

Watercolors - Watercolors are very handy for vacation family time because they are compact and do not require much effort. You can give your kids disposable cups of water for dipping their brushes into and have them paint paper plates. They can even get more creative, find rocks, and paint them.

Paper masks - This can be loads of fun for your kids when allowing them to use their imaginations. What you will need for this craft is paper plates, crayons, markers or paint, stapler, hole puncher, scissors, construction paper, glue, string and small pom poms (optional).

Let’s take a dog mask as an example. Take out a paper plate and have your kids decorate it like the face of a dog. This can be anyway they like. They can color in the plate a brown color with their crayons or markers or have them get out a brown piece of construction paper, place a paper plate on it, and trace the outside edge of it around the construction paper. Then have them cut the construction paper to fit their paper plate by cutting on the circle line they just drew. Once they have their construction paper cut, they can glue it on to the paper plate and begin drawing the rest of their dogface. They can draw on whiskers, cut out two holes for their eyes and one hole for their mouth. Then glue on a pom pom as the nose. They can cut out ears with construction paper and glue them on each side of the plate. They can even use red construction paper and cut out a tongue and just glue it under the hole where their mouth will be. Have them either punch a hole on both edges of the plate and tie a string through it or you can staple the string on both sides so they can wear their masks around their head.

Vacation family time can be very exciting for your kids with a little thought and creativity. Keeping them busy working on their own arts and crafts allows you some extra relaxation time on your much needed vacation.

Organizing Your Kids Crafts And Hobbies Working Area

crafts and hobbies

crafts and hobbies

Crafts and hobbies are a great way to free your mind of thestresses of life as well as a great push to be more social if you like, they can occupy your hands and your mind.

Crafts and hobbies are also great fun for those participating in them but sometimes our family, friends and colleagues simply don’t understand what we are doing or why we spend so much time doing it.

Crafts and hobbies are a great way for youngsters to connect with each other and spend time with adults.,a way to bring families together. They encourage creativity, and they allow children to try out new things. It’s not enough to allow your kids to use crafts for children themselves. If you want to be a good parent, you should participate too.   finding the best crafts for kids is largely a matter of trial and error. Obviously, some of it depends on thr age of the child, but some of it also depends on the kids individual temperaments. Some kids crafts work well for everyone at a certain age. For example, young children all love to glue glitter to paper. At a certain age, all girls and some boys enjoy making friendship bracelets.

Crafts and hobbies are practiced, they usually employ a number of tools and a variety of parts and other materials and normally require a surface upon which to work, such as a table. Such crafts or hobbies are frequently pursued at home by children and adults who have no work area available in the home specifically for their craft or hobby. Consequently, they often utilize the kitchen table, dining room table or other household furniture for that purpose. Many crafts or hobbies involve the use of glues, paints or other chemicals, while others involve cutting, pinning or burning. When such crafts or hobbies are performed on household tables and furniture, the table top or furniture finish may be damaged thereby, unless protected with papers, cardboard or other materials. In addition, when used in the conventional manner, many crafts and hobbies involve considerable clutter, which must be gathered up and moved frequently, for example, at family meal time or similar occasion. Moreover, when papers, cardboard or other materials are used to protect the table top or furniture finish from damage, this merely adds to the clutter of materials which must be cleaned up and moved each time. Many persons may desire to practice such crafts or hobbies while traveling away from home. However, in view of the above problems no practical way has been known for the traveler to persue crafts or hobbies while conveniently protecting the tables or other furniture in the hotel, motel or guest home in which he resides when traveling, and conveniently transporting all associated tools, materials and parts from one location to another.

Crafts and hobbies are a huge part of life for many people, but organizing a craft work area and keeping it organized and tidy can be a challenge. The challenge is even greater if you are working with limited space. Can be a major challenge, but it’s also one of the most satisfying projects you can do.

Here are a few ideas for you:

A container that’s big enough to contain everything you need for your craft is essential. If you need to store your materials in a different place from where you work, a container on wheels is an ideal solution. Those clear plastic drawer units you find in hardware or home supply stores are excellent and come in different sizes.

Shelving can also convert a small area of a room into a craft corner. Just make sure you put all your supplies in good looking containers that fit the shelves. Otherwise your craft area can clutter up the look of the entire room.

Benefit of Kids Crafts For Small Children

kids arts & crafts

kids arts & crafts

What kinds of  kids crafts will help to break up a day filled with lesson plans, errands and other responsibilities?

When crafting at home with small children it’s also a good idea for the parent to be prepared ahead of time for when the weather is bad or the kids are bored. Start a craft materials stash just as you would for your own craft or sewing projects.

Kids crafts are as varied as the types of children they’re meant to entertain. For younger kids, crayons, coloring books and plastic figurines will keep kids busy for hours, but many parents and teachers prefer a more ‘hands-on’ approach to kids crafts.

When you want to spend some quality time with the little ones you will be ready to craft on the spur of the moment.

Kids crafts can be created with simple ingredients like paper, glue, scissors and crayons or markers. Designing cards, masterpieces or just scribbling will keep various age groups entertained, and only imagination is the limit to what children can produce if given the opportunity.

Watercolors and paintbrushes are also a favorite with kids, and finger-painting is still as popular as it was thirty or forty years ago. If you don’t want the mess of paints, crayons or markers, try beads, yarn and plastic needles to help your kids create construction paper animals or pockets for letters, chores or homework assignments.

Kids crafts are an important part of your child’s life and help to encourage creativity and ingenuity. There are no right or wrong crafts to choose for kids, other than making sure that they are age appropriate. Younger children may need supervision and help at times, but older children are fine in creating and designing things out of whatever craft supplies you have on hand.

But always remember  safety when crafting with small children is just as important as being prepared. No sharp objects that can cut fingers or poke eyes and depending on the age of the child, no tiny items that can cause a choking hazard. Don’t let the kids handle hot items like irons or hot liquids.

Most ideas were passed back and forth between the teachers. We modified projects to fit the age group. Many ideas came from the Teachers Resource Center and just plain old brainstorming.

You can find almost anything if you have time to research and collect. There are many sites dedicated to kid’s crafts.

Whichever craft projects you choose to do with your kids, no matter where you find them, be prepared, keep safety in mind and have lots of fun crafting away.
