Enchanted Learning With Kids Crafts At Home

By 123kidscrafts

Nothing gets a child smiling like crafts at home. Kids crafts done at home with family can be thought of as an enchanted learning experience. Kids crafts at home give children an opportunity to improve on their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and cognitive skills while using their imagination and creativity.

When it comes to kids crafts at home, the possibilities are endless. There are many fun projects you can get your kids involved in that can be done with family, friends or alone. Let us explore just a few of these fun craft ideas.

1. Birthday parties - Have your children invite their friends over for a day filled with craft-making activities. They can create their own party hats, friendship bracelets, paper planes or paper puppets. It will be an enchanted learning experience for everyone as their imaginations go wild.

2. Pasta art - This is a favorite for many kids. It is a very simple project too. All you need is construction paper, glue and a box of pasta (let them pick out the type of pasta). The kids then can make beautiful art pieces with their noodles and paper.

3. Finger painting - This is one of the messier crafts, but so much fun for your little ones. Painting lets your children express their thoughts, dreams and imaginations into a colorful masterpiece. Be sure to lay down newspaper and dress your kids into clothes dedicated for this craft only.

4. Animal Shapes - What another great way to give your children an enchanted learning experience. Your kids can design all different types of animals using shapes (this also helps them learn their shapes). How about a triangle fish? Kids can cut out a big triangle for the body and smaller triangles for the fins. How about a panda bear using only circles? A big circle for the body, smaller for the head, two smaller circles for the ears and lines of tiny circles for the legs and arms. Grab some glue and popsicle sticks and you can have instant animal puppets.

5. Magnets - This is another easy kids craft. You can purchase unfinished wood shapes at your local craft store along with paint and magnet strips. You can get the self-adhesive magnet strips or purchase a hot glue gun for the standard magnets (you will want to help your kids with the hot glue gun so they do not burn themselves). Then your kids can paint their wood shapes, add fun decorations such as glitter or beads and then attach the magnet strips once the paint dries on the shapes. Once the magnets are finished let your kids put them on the refrigerator door so everyone can enjoy their artwork.

On the next rainy day or special occasion, why don’t you open up the world of enchanted learning for your child. Allow them to choose which crafts they would like to do that day and then sit back and watch the smiles on their faces as they create wonderful little masterpieces.

Craft Store Shopping vs. Internet Craft Shopping

By 123kidscrafts

Traditionally, buying crafts would mean a trip to the craft store. However, we are in changing times. More and more people are beginning to shop for their crafts online. This is understandable because buying from the Internet is more convenient than having to leave the comfort of your home. In this article, we will explore the benefits of both shopping online and offline at a craft shop.

Craft Store Shopping

The obvious reason for shopping at a local craft store is that there are no additional charges such as shipping costs. Also, everything is right there in front of you. You can feel it, smell it, measure it, or whatever you need to do when picking out crafts. If you have questions, there is someone right there to answer them. Whether you are unsure of what to buy or if this will match or if that will fit properly, you will have the guidance of a customer service representative in front of you to assist you during your shopping experience.

Maybe a certain fabric was cut too short, or you got the wrong set of paints for a project, with the convenience of the craft store being right in your neighborhood, you can easily return it and get what you want instead (or get your money back).

Returning things that you have bought online is a bit more difficult as you have to pay for shipping it back and you have to wait another week or two for the right materials to be shipped back to you. You do have customer service with online shopping, however it is usually in the form of email, phone, or live chat. You do not get to experience the personal one on one interaction that a craft store can provide.

Buying Crafts Online

Although there are certain things missing with shopping online like personal customer service and the ability to touch or measure material before buying, the Internet does hold a whole new convenience to shopping for crafts.

The first convenience is you can order what you need with a click of the mouse. There is no need to leave the house and drive off to a craft store. Everything can be done right from the comfort of your home. Also, you have more options when shopping online. You have the flexibility of shopping at more than one store. There are many stores online that you can browse through, so if one store doesn’t have what you are looking for, simply click on to the next store.

Another convenience that Internet shopping offers is tons of discounts! You have more chance of saving money by shopping online than you do in a traditional craft shop. Ebay makes a good example. EBay is one of the largest online sites that sell just about anything and everything starting as little as 99 cents. In some cases, there is not even a shipping charge when shopping on eBay.

Also, Internet shopping allows you to read other people’s experiences with certain crafts and materials. This way you can get an honest review of something before you buy it.

Both shopping at a craft store and shopping online have its advantages (and disadvantages), but at least you know you have the flexibility to get your crafts and materials where ever seems the best choice at the time.
