Seasonal Craft Ideas Your Kids Can Enjoy
The four seasons each year can be celebrated in many ways. Children can celebrate the four seasons with different craft ideas for each season. It can be very fun for them to use their imaginations as they come up with a different craft for a different season. Below you will different craft ideas for each season of the year.
Spring Craft Ideas
Paper plate kites: You will need paper plates and streamers for this craft. Have your kids draw their choice of design on their paper plates. Next, they will attach a few long streamers with glue to the paper plate at one end and punch a hole at the top of the paper plate. Have them tie a piece of string through the hole. Wrap the other end of string around a stick and then tape it in place. Take them out when it is a bit windy so they can enjoy their perfect little paper plate kites.
Summer Craft Ideas
Painting rocks: Have your children go outside and find as many rocks they can of all different shapes and sizes. Then simply have them use their imaginations as they paint the rocks with acrylic paints and brushes.
Plant a flower garden: This is a fun summer craft for children to learn about growing plants and flowers. You can have a small garden especially for your kids where they can grow their own daisies, marigolds, or sunflowers.
Winter Craft Ideas
Cotton ball pictures: Have your children draw winter scenic pictures with lots of snow! Then they can fill in the snow by ripping the cotton balls apart and gluing them down where the snow should be. They can also use whole cotton balls for snowmen or snowballs.
Pinecone bird feeders: This is a wonderful winter project because it allows your children to do something that they can be proud of. Have them collect a few pinecones. Then have them cover the pinecones with peanut butter or honey and roll them in birdseed. Tie a string to the pinecones and hang on a tree outside. Not only can your kids enjoy watching the birds eat these cute little treats, but they can be proud of themselves too for supplying food for the birds.
Fall Craft Ideas
Leaf and flower pressing: Take a walk with your kids to find leaves. Collect as many different shapes, colors, sizes and textures as you can find. Once you have collected as many leaves as you want, add the leaves in between two pieces of wax paper and place them inside a heavy book. Then pile a couple more heavy books on top to press the leaves. Once the leaves are dry and pressed, you can laminate them and use them for jewelry making, decorations or greeting card making. What a great way to have some fun while teaching your children about mother nature.
